Per separate thread Cost of canister gas? and identified bulk purchase of Gasmate 230g Iso-Butane canister in 24 units lot of $69.95, average just under $3/can, Crollsurf and I are happy to invite Sydney locals to our group buy.

Conditions:
- One off share of 24 units.
- $3 each for convenience and paid at pickup.
- Must be willing and reliably pick up in person from a nominated public location on a mid-week evening (if the order arrives in time, probably Wed or Thu b/n 7:30-8 at Milsons Point next week), with the group.
- Order for 24 has been entered (6 Sept Thu) but subject to merchant's fulfillment.

Please enter the number of cans you want below for tabulation until all 24 taken. Your nominated number (if large) may be reduced to accomodate Crollsurf (6) and my (3) orders. Happy for others to continue this thread for other group buys in other regions of Sydney once this order is through (if forum policy permits).

EDIT: Merchant sold out but expect new stock from O/S in 2 weeks. See post below for additional info.

Ok, just received call from the merchant and they are sold out (I think Nuts started it). At this point, I’ve asked them to keep the order and they are expecting delivery from O/S in 2 weeks. So hopefully we can complete this group buy by the end of this month. Distribution at the first mid-week opportunity per above after delivery.

At present:
6+3+3=12 taken, so 12 cans still unallocated.

Just for the record, I'm in for 6

EDIT: Sorry GPS already listed me so the tally still stands at 12

Just noticed Outdoors Domain have these back in stock and will likely to ship soon. At present, we still have 12 canisters unallocated.

Anyone in Sydney?

Group buy distributed. We now each have a bit more gas than we can use for a long time. So if anyone needs a canister or few, feel free to contact. Otherwise completed.

Thanks GPS for organising that. I think I now have 2 lifetimes of gas for $26! Happily carry a few extra grams of gas for some freshly boiled rice or pasta now. :D

I think I can run a household BBQ and still have spares for my bush camp needs...

If you want to reduce carry weight, you can pick up one of those connectors to transfer the fuel to your 100g canisters. I've got the Korean model off eBay 2-3 years back and it works very well. Taking a look just now, I get the impression that Chinese models have taken over.

As you know, I was stunned to discover they were the medium sized cannisters for $3, not the small ones. Just purchased something similar off ebay. The G-Works model was expensive.

If you hear a large bang and see a mushroom cloud in the near future, dont worry. I'll be right [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Yes, G-Works units are expensive but was the only one around in those days. These $10 Chinese models are far far more reasonable in pricing.

Yes, I was rather nervous when transferring for the first time but it was pretty straightforward. Just remember not to over fill the receiving canister and stay with 100g spec and no more.

Hi GPS. Do you still have any canisters looking for a home? Happy to take a couple of orphans if available. I'm in the inner west so lower north shore is no problem.
