Hi, I haven't been here for a long time,but since I've just sold my house and intend moving to QLD, I need to reduce the clutter. I have a box of climbing gear that needs a good home.
1.Black Diamond ice axe 61cm with protective covers
2.DMM steel Crampons with anti-balling pads
3.Petzl Ascender EN567 light use.
4.Petzl Elios helmet size 1 48-56cm
5.Petzl Corax harness size 1

These items were used on a trip to Concordia and Gondogoro La in 2008. The harness was also used on 3 trips to the Italian Dolomites walking the via ferrata.
This is a nice segway onto the other items
6. Mammut via ferrata kit. Used on 3 separate trips between 2009-2013 (along with the corax harness)

7. Petzl Meteor III helmet size 53-61 cm including spare foam pad insert
8. Mammut via ferrata kit (modified by Mammut in switzerland due to a recall. I have the paperwork)
9.Petzl Corax size 2
items 7,8,9 have had very little use, as it turned out that the user was not so keen on heights.

10. Stubai aluminium crampons with anti-balling pads. Used on the Haute route 2010

11. Outdoor Reasearch Alti Mitts size L

I would like to give these away as a 'box set' if possible. I am in the Forestville area. if you can use them or know someone who can?

Generous offer - I assume the 'box set' idea is to clean it out quickly before the move to Qld.

I'm not a climber but have been looking at a couple of NZ tramps where an ice axe and crampons would be advisable.

If no-one else puts their hand up, I could store the remaining gear and pass on as people seek components.

If the 'box set' is for sentimental reasons, ignore the suggestion

And I am happy to pay postage but living way down in Geelong I can't come and collect unfortunately
The Garvan Institute is an organisation I know little about but happy to contribute what I can afford

I'd love to take the altimits, Petzl ascender and steel and aluminium crampons (2, 3, 10, 11 I think)
I'm also likely to be near Forestville on Saturday, which is not usual for me

Hi climberman, sorry the mitts are going to Canberra. The ascender is heading further south into Vic. I have left a pm with bernieq about the crampons and I'm waiting for a reply. Depending on that, it could just be a pair of crampons in steel or Al. I'll pm you the outcome. I can't interest you in the harness or helmets? Maybe you. have friends that might be looking?
