The inner back sheet panel pockets shrunk, a little bolt was the easiest fix (and has held up fine) but could be trimmed down (the back sheet and the support stay) and the bolt removed

Did they work well as a ski touring day pack Nuts?

It's been a long time since I was on ski's m'dog (though I did just buy a splitboard and will hold on to one of these packs).
I'd say they'd be ideal. One of our guides uses his to ski tour and says it's great.
But I actually bought them for walking, they fit tiny to XL with the pivoting belt, and the front pocket is a very well protected tent space.

Apparently this model had a huge following until LA changed the design. I'd keep them other than they are considered 'heavy', our new packs are adequate, specific to walking and much lighter.
