At about $10 per metre for small rolls and $5 per metre for the huge 60m rolls, it's not very cost effective.

It's not a perfect comparison, but I would need to use at least $2.50 worth (at the maximum bulk rate) to package the same item I can put in a $0.20 padded mail bag (admittedly I buy those in bulk, so they're quite cheap). The large margins required for this product to self-adhere would also result in slightly larger items, which could increase shipping costs (due to the way cubic weight is measured).

I post a lot less than I receive so keep some bubble wrap to reuse. Othwise i use the padded envelopes from the post office
