You do realise you're asking more than the price you can get the hubba hubba hp from the states? A lot more.

Good luck with that ollster, with exchange rates (that you as a consumer actually pay) and postage, as well as the long wait, i think i'm competitive. And that is IF you can find a seller who will ship here! I'm still $165 to $300 cheaper than other sellers in australia. Plus US ones are "look at me" yellow :P

Thats nice, good for Azza.
If you can get one for that price I suggest you do so. I paid more than that for a bulk order (each), which was the cheapest I could find them anywhere. So that is an exceptionally good price.

For arguments sake, RRP in USD is $450, which is currently AUD$456. So you reckon international transaction fees (if applicable) and freight will add up to more than $143?

FYI - I bought my Hubba HP from Moontrail, and it took a whole 5 business days and cost $413 inc P&H and a some other goodies (tent repair kit, thermarest cushion and platypus bladder - value of around AUD$70-80RRP). Sorry to rain on your parade, but $600 is just crazy.

Oh, hang on, it's in green. I understand MSR charge an extra $150 for green... sorry, my bad. :D

Yes exchange rates have improved since I bought these, but still. Lets say $450 USD. That equates to around $470AUD including the actual exchange rate you will pay (not the figure quoted in the news). Add $50 or so postage and you are up to $520. 5 days is very quick postage and from my experience more the exception than the norm. And sorry I don't have a 'bonus point's system like Moontrail!
Oh by the way - Moontrail will not ship MSR to Australia any more. Nor will any other American retailer I have found so you may need to look to Europe for your comparisons.
Is it not okay for me to try and make a small profit? I am not claiming to sell at cost price or below as you would wish for. And to get one from Europe you are looking at well over $600, from Australia (where I am) it's more like $800.
But okay what the hell seem I feel generous - free postage Australia wide to forum members with 10 posts or more, except the southern confederate for being bad sports. :D
Actually Ollster why don't you show us all an example of a store who:
- Have a Hubba Hubba HP in stock.
- Will ship to Australia.
- Priced under $600 AUD delivered.
And if you find one do they:
- Ship in 1 to 2 days?
- Offer 30 day refund inc. postage?
- Green in colour?
Good luck!

They were certainly being shipped end of last year. I haven't had to buy a new tent since then, so I have no idea if Moontrail etc are still shipping.

Fair point. That particular model seems to be a bit thin on the ground... end of life/season product maybe? MSR are probably retooling to make exclusively yellow ones, so I'd better get in quick to buy one in green. :P

Hmmm, is it fair to compare the cost of a Hubba HP (1 person tent) with a Hubba Hubba HP (2 person tent)? or to compare the previous cost of a Hubba Hubba HP (when they were available in the US, they don't seem to be now) with the current cost?

Excellent tent IMHO. Very happy with mine.
