Alpacka Packraft

Postby SteveJ » Tue 14 Jun, 2011 12:56 am

I am upgrading to the latest model so am selling my current Alpacka Packraft. It is a cedar green Unrigged Explorer model and I will include for free a 4 piece Werner paddle. Also includes, pack attach system, storage bag, inflation bag (no pump required), sea anchor and repair kit. Selling for $650 including postage (Package retail is over $1350). Packrafts are the ultimate tool for adventure travel.

It is the green raft pictured here

Perfect inflatable boat for backpack/adventure travel as they pack down to the size of a small two-man tent with a weight of about 3kg total with paddle. Strength of these packrafts is something you have to see to believe, they are very tough little boats suitable for class 3/4 white-water. Here is my YouTube channel with a sample of the type of trips I have done.

The packraft has been used for a few seasons and has the usual marks and scuffs associated with use. There are a few minor repairs but nothing serious. This boat has many years of solid use left in it They are designed to be used in tough environments and are easy and fast to repair with Aquaseal or Tyvek tape if you get the odd pin hole.

For more info check out the Alpacka site

I am throwing in the paddle for free, it is quite used but has plenty of years left in it also, more info on the paddle.

Your welcome Dale, I hope the raft brings you as much wonderful adventure as it has introduced me to, we may need to get a packrafting section on this forum soon, there are begining to be quite a few owners here :-)

Ninjapupet, the Werners are a great paddle, this one is getting on a bit and has lived an exciting life (hence I threw it in for free) but has a few years left in it and Dale will probably want to get a paddle that suits his paddling style, it will get him on the water and going though. It is very light and is a 4 piece too. I am umming and arring between the unrigged explorer and the Denali Lama in the new design, either way I am going the spray deck as I want to do a bit more white water stuff this year.

It's a good thing I haven't been online lately - about $1000 worth of stuff I'd have bought (including this). All that money I've saved . . .
