*SOLD* REDUCED Black Diamond Guiding Light + Vestibule $365

Postby mattmacman » Fri 08 Jul, 2011 8:16 pm

Hey guys up for sale is a Black Diamond Guiding Light + a Black Diamond Lighthouse vestibule. The tent is in great condition the only 'damage' is some dirt marks on the doors. Tent specs/ description.
-The tent is a true 4 season beast
-The tent has a 5 pole structure that is set up from the inside of the tent with velco loops, the advantage of this is that you can bail inside during a blizziard and setup the tent al the while staying warm.
-The tent dosent require any guying out however there are attachement points around the tent, the tent has 8 ground tie points.
- The vestibule clips onto the tent in multiple points as with all BD tents the vestibule provides a great transition from the tent to the outside, the vestibule also has tons of room for gear, the vestibule is pole supported and requires beign staked out.
-The tent has an Epic canopy which is extremely breathable and waterproof, the tent also has two large doors on either side which has two layers, fabric and no see um mesh.
-The tent + vestibule packs down to approxiamtelly the length and width of two nalgenes HOWEVER this can be compressed easily to less than half that size with the aid of a compression sack (not included) which is really quite small for a true 4 season 4 man tent, the tent + vestibule weight approximatelly 2.7 kg and i usually pack the vestibule with the tent and put the materials and poles seperately (distribute the tent between people!)
The tent is an absaloute war horse i have only used in WA however and its time to sell for a smaller tent. More info here -

Photo 1-Shows vestibule closed
Photo 2-Shows the size and stability of the lighthouse vestibule
Photo 3-Shows the Super taught Epic canopy
Photo 4-Shows the tent+vestibule packed alongside the poles packaged
I was origonally selling for $425 however i have reduced this to $365 for a quick sale, the price does not include postage however id be happy to post at buyers expense, happy bidding !

Hello
I am interested in this tent. How does it perform in very wet/humid environments?
Cheers

Hi Anitalouise the tent is great for 4 season climates but performs nearly well as other conventional tents in relation to condensation, to be honest with you as may know it has a slight disadvantage straight of the bat beign a single skin tent the ways you can reduce (or that the tent already has to help reduce this) condensation and improve the tent for humid/ wet conditions
-Use the vestibule so you have one vent on the top of the vestibule (theres a double zipper and the zip curls all the way around the top of the vent as shown.
-Now that the tent has one side with the waterproof vestibule you can fully open one of the massive doors allowing large ventilation
-The top of the door at the end without the vestibule can be opened slightly as it is protected to some extent by the large eaves this is again in thanks to the double zippers
-The tent's seams have been waterproofed using silnet (all BD tents have to undergoe this) it took me ages as you can see in the photo's i layed it on thick to stop water not the prettiest but not leeky either
-The epic canopy to some extent passes moisture through to the outside
-Do youreself a massive favour and buy a msr travel towl (small size) to wipe down the inside of your tent with (the towells are relatively cheap weigh nothing and can help with drying youreseld dishes etc)

Hope to hear back from you, regards matt !

Thanks for your response Matt. Another question, does the tent have a double walled opening i.e. are the openings doubled walled - does it have a mesh screen?
Cheers Anita

Sorry Matt, just read through the details again and have answered my own question. I am not sure how this works but I would like to purchase your tent. You can give me a call (in prior message) or just respond through this link.

Thanks again

Hi im glad to hear of that where did you live i can arrange postage at your expense (wont be too much) and yes (i know you answered the question but oh well) the tent has two double layer (material and mesh) doors .. they are massive, the double zipper and eaves mean you can open the top of the door in light rain for increased air flow. How would you like to pay id prefer Bpay or paypal ?

Hey, can anyone confirm this "light house vestibule" fits this "guiding light" tent?
