I decided to give the NB trail running shoes a go for bushwalking after reading Roger Caffin's positive reviews of them over on Backpacking Light. Like Roger, I have a wide foot but I wasn't able to find the wide sizes in the shops here, so I bought these from Amazon. Although I normally fit a size US9 these were half a size too big for me. I reckon they'd be right for someone who normally fits a US9.5 size.
I've since bought another pair at the US8.5-4E size which fit me well. Done a couple of walks in them now and v. happy with them. Comfortable and seem to grip well.
