Sheesh and I thought I had a lot of packs.

What are you replacing this with? For climbing or just walking?

Its taken alot of trial and error but Ive finally got a couple of packs for walking that I'm very happy with now. Its easy with walking packs because everything can just be stored inside the pack.
However for climbing, I'm alot more fickle minded with features such as the way crampons skis, and ice axes are stored, so having a custom made pack is a pretty neat idea.
Next pack will probally be another cilogear 30 worksack or a cold cold world valdez.

Rogo, sorry bluegum Mic just got in before you with that neoair.

Yep, I just use bigger climbing packs for walking, can't justify buying a separate one.

If you're looking for an alpine 'daypack' and you're not a big guy, the WS30 is pretty good but if you want something just that bit bigger I'd say the Valdez...I've got the former and looking at the latter. The former is smaller and hence lighter if you strip it but the latter seems burlier and by all accounts is. The WT Guide pack is also good in the smaller volume range if that's what you're after. Though all are a fair bit smaller than the WS45 you had.

Although if you want Cuben and you might seeing as you had a NWD then the HMG Ice pack looks interesting too but a lot cheaper...to me it looks like a cheaper WS30 NWD with roll top. but no bivy pad? and no annoying strap system. That said, it's not really any lighter than the WS30 if you take the frame with you.
