Need rubberised cotton camping mat (second hand)

Hi forum members,

I need to buy a second hand camping mat (and from a guaranteed non-smoker). You can’t get these via ebay/gumtree, but some bushwalkers would still have old ones in their possession.

(To explain why: I’m sensitive to glues in regular mattresses, and with futons the underside of you tends to bake with the trapped heat whilst you chill on top.

I used to sleep on an old fashioned rubberised cotton inflatable camping mat, until it broke, similar to the one in this photo, with tubular air pockets. Image

I can buy a new one of these, but it will be years before the glue vapours go and I'd use it. PVC is a no-go.

I’d pay $50 to pick up the right mat (with a few questions to the seller). Interested in any size.

I'm in Melbourne central east.

Thanks!

Joanna

Joanna, I've got a few of the ones you mean downstairs but I would need to pump them up just to check for any leaks. You're welcome to them - please keep your $50!
I think they'll all singles and one double, they are all about 10years old (min) and we are non-smokers.

I'm just about to go away for a couple of days bushwalking so I can't check right now but give me a couple of days.
Stew

PS I'm located 20km NE of Melbourne CBD.

Potential here for an excellent outcome to a particularly difficult problem.
Good on ya Stew, gold star!
