• Packs 16 ounces of ultra-premium, 850-fill down insulation to retain your body’s warmth and maintain a super-high warmth-to-weight ratio

Hi there,

Curious as to why you're selling?

Aren't WM bags meant to be really good?

It's a quality bag, no denying that & yes, WM are one of the best sleeping bag brands out there.
I have an old Macpac Epic 450 SF which is similar in rating & has a near waterproof outer...this just seems to be my go to bag & the WM is not going to get much use.
My tent (a Hilleberg Soulo) also produces a lot of condensation, which is not a problem on shorter trips, but I fear for any (non-waterproof) bag in this tent on a hard 10 day off track SW Tas trip, which I do once or more a year.
It would be the perfect bag for the right person...

Hmm actually l should do some research on lightweight bags and get back to you if I'm still keen stu. It would probably be ideal for Nepal dry+cold, but not sure about tassie where it would be used after..

For what its worth I have a Marmot Plasma 30, which is somewhat comparable, well we put them side by side and there are similarities.

http://marmot.com/products/plasma_30

The outer fabric somewhat similar on both and they certainly doesn't give the impression of super water proof or super rip proof - the price of being light weight.
I had mine on the 10 day Eldon trip and it got damp on the outside from condensation and the fact that it was miserably wet for a couple of days.
The water didn't penetrate into the down or affect the bags performance, like I have had happen with an old Fairy Down sleeping bag where a wiff of moisture and the down was all clumped together.
It fact I was quite impressed with how dry it managed to stay despite the wet environment.

I think Stu is being a bit over concerned about the potential water issue - its a pretty good bag... (He just seems like buying gear online and selling it the next week, I think he might have a problem he should see someone about ;-) )

I came very close to buying one. I think in the light weight stakes either bag is hard to beat for the warm to weight ratio.

Yes, maybe a little cautious.
Yes, maybe a gear fanatic.
Nik - no problems, do some research & get back to me if you like.
My only issue with this bag is it's potential to shed & resist moisture on long, wet, off track trips..but I haven't proven that either way yet...

To improve the water resistance you could just sleep inside your pack / pack liner like someone we know.....

I'd buy it Stu, but I already have one :)

Great bag btw. Never been cold in mine wherever I've taken it - Tassie, Scotland, Outback.

Would you consider $300 with free postage to Australia Stu?
I am gathering some extra gear to take my daughter & son in law to the Overland Track as a graduation present this year and have been looking for an extra sleeping bag.

Good stuff! If I had not just bought myself a new bag I would have been all over this a lot earlier.
