North Is.- N.Z. walks

A group of nine of us are traveling to North Is. N.Z. in mid October to do the Northern Circuit of Mt. Tongariro Nat. Park ,then head down to do a 3-day hike around Lake Waikaremoana, staying at Panekire then Marauiti Huts. We have booked huts & checked local facilities ,has anyone recently done these walks & if so any tips .We are members of a local bush-walking club, We plan to resupply/stock up on food /fuel etc at both Rotarua & Taupo .

I'm doing Waikaremoana 14-16th dec! Might see you there. No tips though since I haven't done it before.

I did the Tongariro circuit a few years back. Really nice, take your time and enjoy it is all I can say...
