Hitching from Greenstone Road to Routeburn Shelter

I'm after an alternative to catching and booking a bus from Greenstone rd to Routeburn Shelter next month. Is this a viable option? I know it's probably not a busy road but do you rate my chances of getting a lift?
Also I'm doing the Kepler track. I was planning on booking a bus there but just winging it on the way back to Queenstown. Thoughts?

Cheers

chances are very slim, kinlock have a shuttle, don't know if they cater for people not staying with them.

Actually change of plans!
What do you think of my chances from Queenstown to Te Anau?

At $90 return it's a fair bit out of my budget. Are there any cheaper options?

Im not a travel agent. Walk the Mt Nicholls station or greenstone and mavora and snowden forest instead. To get to teanau. Works for Te araroa walkers
