the sites work quite differently, the linz site only allows downloading specific maps

nztopomaps site gives a dynamic view of the maps online enabling changing of scale and moving over nz as one giant map

That is an excellent site Wayno. I first roughed out my Routeburn/Greenstone/Caples walk on there.

Hi Wayno. I did this walk earlier this year. Trip report here viewtopic.php?f=43&t=5959 I only found out about the Steele creek route by looking at the maps. The routeburn is magnificent, just a pity I had a foggy day as I went over Harris Saddle. I suppose i have to go back now and do it again.
