Cathedral Mountain

Mon 28 Dec, 2009 8:49 am

Hello All

Just back from Tasmania and Christmas with my in-laws. Was able to arrange for a couple of days to visit Chalice Lake and Cathedral Mountain with my twin boys. Great walk and great weather.

Here are a couple of pictures..

Great pix Robbo - I've done the opposite & have flown to Vic (Bendigo to be precise) for a family Christmas. Lovely being in the ironbark country, & with family, but I can't wait to get back to those mountains. Cathedral is very special and it looks like you had great weather,

cheers

Peter

G'day Tony,
Nice pics and you were blessed with the weather ,noticed your log book entry on the track and you no doubt saw the BWT sticker on my Subaru,we were heading into Meston via Jacksons Creek track wow two dry days on a Strollers walk  .
Glad to see you back in Tassie who knows we may even be able to link up for a stroll in the future.

Hello Corvus

Yes I do recall seeing your car, but didn't note stickers or the like as we were in somewhat of a hurry to be on our way as we wanted to be at Chapter Lake before dark. I look forward to catching up sometime in the future. I am on study leave in 2010 and so will be on a somewhat more flexible timetable than in the past, though will still be involved in my school's walking program at Buangor, Bogong and Tasmania.

The weather was very kind to us as the photos attest, but it did get cool overnight with a light frost on the morning of the 21st.

Thanks Gerry

Got wet feet getting there - my son found the way were this didn't need to happen! - but it was worth it. This was the first time I'd seen the falls in the sun!

I did find this quite nearby. It seems not all value such beautiful places!
