Mts Manfred, Cuvier, Byron

Stu, Azza, MJD and I did a quick off track walk for a couple of days over easter. Had a Good Friday and an Evil Saturday and Sunday. Still got a few decent shots...

Yup. Surely there's a way off the far end of the guardians there??

No Mark, it's impossible, it simply cannot be done by anyone, ever.

EDIT: if it's anything like the scrub up the low side of *&%$#! Manfred, you can keep it.

Haha :p I'll have to ask Nuts, he did it recently. Would certainly make a better walk of Gould AND Horrorhill.

I had more nice pics, but wanted to mix them up a bit. Those shots are pretty much just Friday except for the shot off the Cuvier shelf - for the record, I quite literally couldn't feel my fingertips, so I was just mashing cold meat at the camera to try and get it to take some pics before I dashed into the warmth of the tent.

Mark - I'd be keen to have a crack at descending off The Guardians some time. HH I've done, but didn't get a view so I'd probably be sick enough to go back. The scrub is pretty tame.

What happens when we're half way down and you have a code brown?

Cheers Nick. It did try to snow a few times. Fagus was definitely on the turn. Couldn't smell any smoke, but it was a little hazy.

It wasn't great for anything apart from bagging a few peaks. Was a shame it was so cold and wet, we were planning on bagging Goulds SL and Coal Hill too - walking looked pretty easy out that way.

Walking was actually kinda nice in the forested slopes around the peaks, out of the wind the temperature wasn't too bad. I'd certainly like to get back to Cuvier shelf, it's a beautiful shelf camp and not nearly as bad to get to from the Byron side. It was nice to get in amongst some fairly fierce shrubbery and the scrub cliffs up Manfred were pretty fun.

Great shots, looks like you had the weather for Manfred. Had a three day trip here March long weekend, unfortunately did not get a glimpse of Manfred all day when we were climbing it, couldn't even see the top of the cliffs!
