Bushwalking pictures.
Forum rules
Please keep the width of embedded images (using [img] [/img] tags) in this forum to no more than 800 pixels wide (this will avoid them being clipped without notice by most users' window sizes). Attached images can be any resolution so long as the file size is no more than 1 MB (attachments will be displayed by the forums as thumbnails no larger than 800 pixels linked to the full-size image).

Please include a description of the pictures' content so that readers know what they're all about.

For topics focussed on narrative rather than the photos, please consider posting in one of the 'Trip Report' forums instead.

There are some awesome panoramas here.

Icefest - You have taken some great shots. Love your one of 'On the descent from the Pegasus, looking down at Lake Uranus'. It is beautifully framed. I also really like the sunset photos from the Southern Ranges. Your photo 'Looking north from the summit of the Ironbounds' makes me feel a bit sea sick :)

I'm really hoping to be able to return to the WAs and repeat that shot with a nice camera (I'm still trying to decide if the A7R is worth the extra money or not) and an 8mm fisheye.
Same with the PB summit, the camera I was using had severe problems with the dynamic range (and required much PP artistry to get passable shots)

The "Summit of the Ironbounds" was more of a gag shot. I was trying to see how much detail I could eke out of the sensor. I decided to upload it because the effect was disconcerting,

I much prefer panos with the camera held in portrait mode rather than landscape :)

This is Melaleuca to Cox Bight including the Bathurst Range from the South Coast Track. 9 shots handheld in portrait mode. Lots of detail in there!

I do like to stitch some SLR photos together into a panorama, but the quality of photos out of phones these days is quite remarkable.

Thanks NNW :) I won't discount it altogether, however I'm finding some of the gaps and crevices I come across are a bit too broad for my little legs and not-to-broad stretch.
Maybe I just need to find different routes.
