Here is another Gallery that everyone might be able to add to. I'm sure you've all got a good reflection shot somewhere! ...And a couple of pictures to start with.

Hey, nice pics in this topic!

I like what tasdaz has done with the comparative shots with and without the rain drop ripples, and TassieMargie's misty shot is mysteriously beautiful.

It certainly does. I would love to do more work in black and white but is proving harder than taking shots with nice colours :?

If I am going to work in black and white I do a couple of shots in colour and the change the camera to black and white and take a couple like that as well. Try it ...sometimes t works and sometimes it doesn't. Very nice black and white tho.

The photo management software I use (DigiKam) has about 40 or so different black and white conversion filters. From basic desaturation right through to emulating a bunch of the older 35mm B&W films. I really like its ilford filter for reproducing the beautiful contrast and grain that the old ilford delta 400 film had.

T W , The camera I used for the boats is a Canon S2IS and amongst its settings it has B & W .Just thought I'd try and see what happened. Didn't come out too bad. FF

Aaah I used to have the s2is. sold it to buy my d50. Wouldnt go back now...but for the time I had it I got some cracker photos with the s2. Have you played with its selective colourisation in camera? THAT is lots of fun.
Great shot regardless of gear though :)

No TWF's I haven't played with that stuff yet.The camera has been more a recorder of nice places ,fish caught ,critters seen etc. than an end in itself ,however that has changed a bit in recent times. Cost of new cameras is scarey though so this one will have to do for a bit longer.

Well done Walkin Tas, great shots.

Just curious about the lake in the third pic. Is that Shadow lake or Forgotten Lake. Nice shot whichever it is.

Cheers Flyfisher

Thanks Flyfisher, The first pic is a little water hole on the side of the track before Shadow Lake. The other two are Shadow Lake. They were taken 5 minutes apart. The middle one was taken last. Sadly the early morning fog cleared quickly just after I got to the lake. But that is Little Hugel in the background of the last pic.
