Hi TCP , it was just a little Coleman 2 person I think, but it went down just after dark with about 2 hours worth of snow on it.
Luckily the hut had a large dry bunk.

Hey wow!!
On Saturday I thought it felt like you might have seen a bit of snow up there on the weekend, but I didn't ever think you'd get that much. Looks like a great trip guys.

Fantastic pictures. It's a truly beautiful place, and the snow just makes it look even more magical.

Great Photos FF,
I trust you will be posting more.
Hope you have recovered ,the cold weather must have helped my heel spur and gout as it is a lot less painful than it was at the start of the walk.

I will try to dig up some photos from two years ago of us standing, and in one case jumping up and down, on the lakes in the walls. Difficult to find a place to pitch the tents then, we did not have snow pegs

Hi Darren, I reckon we had about 300-400mm of snow on friday nightand early saturday morning.
It was beautiful dry powder snow too. On the walk out through the central basin the wind was picking up the powder and blasting it straight into our faces.Made the going a bit tough at times as we were forced to about turn and wait for it to die down then continue. All fun.

haha I had a cheap tent that collapsed under snow in that exact place! although I only realised when I woke up with the tent against my face
Did any snow shoes come in handy?

I wouldn't worry too much TCP as that tent was pitched in a hurry and may not have had all its guys etc. The larger one might benefit from the extra size.
Also not 100% sure about what type of Coleman or how old.

Be careful Corvus they have shoot horses with less problems than that

Thankfully I am but in horse terms a 3yo with many gallops and (dare I say ) jumps left in me for years to come

Nice photos FF, it's a top spot and all that snow turns it into something totally different

. Looks like a challenging trip boys. We had some snow in the area end of December but nothing like that. It looks like you managed to stay on the duck boards walking back to Wild Dog Creek, how difficult was that?

looks like you managed to stay on the duck boards
It was very difficult, the boards were mostly covered and 2 board wide duckboards are very easy to miss when you can't see where to tread.
The very widely spaced track markers do not help in snowy conditions either.

Some were short videos which I have been unable to post. My attempt was the text photos which you referred to earlier.
I will see if it can be done. The AULRO (landrover owners) forum has recently posted a series of videos in Tas from a recent trip.I was trying to do the same but I don't know if it's possible in this forum.
They were done through Photobucket which is the photo hosting site which I use. More on this later.I would love to show the vids of the wild weather
