Although I have only recently joined the forum, I have noticed quite a few comments about your new camera. I need to get a new lightweight camera, what have you got?

Thanks Sassafrass. My camera is a Panasonic FT-1 which is waterproof - you can actually take shots underwater with it. It's also small, and has a good wide angle on it. It's main drawback may be that it won't be as good in low light. Stepbystep also just got a Panasonic. Fantastic photos, thanks for sharing TR - really must get up the NE ridge myself as I've pretty much explored everywhere else up that way, looks magical!

I also have the FT1 & am very happy with it, a great little point & shooter & burly enough for adventure.

Lovely stuff, I was salivating at some of those. If I could be so bold I think if you ran the Primaeval Forest shot through your picture program you it would be even better than what it is now.

Thanks for the comment Ian, I was just thinking today that I would like to learn more about improving my photos. tas-man, it does look better, interesting purple bits though. Add a bit of fluorescence and it would look like the world of Pandora from Avatar.

Taurë-rana, you are a gem. "God's rays", "Cushion Plant and Flowers" and the "Primeval Forest (manipulated)" are superb. You have a good eye, the majority of your photographs are well composed. I have the feeling that even with a Box Brownie (if you know what they are) you would get good results.
Digitally manipulating images is an interesting topic. Some (so-called) purists don't approve but, as I see it, not much different to a lot of darkroom techniques. Some times the eye (or mind) sees shades that do not easily transport to images so, as in the case of "Primeval Forest", digital manipulation gets you closer to the feeling of the scene as you see it. If you have a larger file original I would love to sit it on my desktop for a couple of weeks!
