Biggest complaint I have the 'auto-iris' function seems to blow out the whites, there is a setting that allows 3 shots to be taken concurrently with 3 different iris settings - shpold have used tis function on the beach as you lose the pink-ish hue on the beach.
But as you say drifting P+S cameras have come a looong way.

P.S. Thanks for compliments Drifting, Adam, Tazz & Sasafrass, hard to take a bad pic there, mind you I managed a few.

Great photos SBS and glad to hear you had a successful trip. I agree monday was a shocker temperature-wise. Our group spent most of the day in Lake Curly!
Cheers,
Rohan

Not too hard if the weather is friendly, took 6.5 hrs in VERY hot weather to get to the lake, walks into the surrounding mountains are as easy as you choose to make them.
I am only of an average fitness level.
