From around Cradle Mountain NP....

I was in the mood for something different thisd year- less landscape, more macro. I really do need to invest in a carbon fibre tripod that will let me get low down though- my el cheapo Velbon aint cutting it anymore!

PLEASE feel free to comment or criticize- I embrace both.

Very nice work, every year I intend to go get some good fagus photos but always end not being able to get there!! You have done really well with these, the second and third are standouts for me, particularly the second, I love the fagus with the dark green background behind. I also like the composition of the first but I find my eyes are drawn to the bottom two leaves in the first instance so having the focus on those two leave may have worked a little better at getting a nice flow through the image as I find my eyes flicking back and fourth between the bottom leaves and the two top ones in focus.

Beautiful photos! I had hoped to get down to Tasmania this past April to see the Nothofagus coloured up around Cradle Mountain but didn’t get time...I will hopefully get to see them next year.

Someone has to be different. Personally, I think the first pic is too bland. Nothing really stands out about it.
The third photo also suffers from the monotonal problem with no good contrast.
The fourth shot utilizes the "thirds" principle well but, again for me, there's little contrast. They're all technically good, but lack artistically.
The second and fourth pictures of fungi are the highlights for me. The composition makes them stand out (unlike the first fungus shot). There's some nice contrast with green in the last which makes a lovely change.
Having said all of the above, it is only my opinion and I could well be wrong on all counts. I've been wrong before......I think it was a Tuesday....Cheers all
