A few photos from me...

Postby tasadam » Mon 16 Aug, 2010 7:43 pm

Been doing a bit of editing of some images.

First one is from a walk I did back in 2006, looking down on Lake Cygnus from up on Western Arthurs...

Next up is a photo from the top of Mt Ossa, I've had this since winter 2007 and have a version on my website, but was never really happy with it. So here it is reworked...

Lastly for now is an image I took from the side of Mt Pelion East in July last year. We couldn't get up the final rocky bit to the summit because it was covered with ice and trying any further than we did (kneeling on the side of a very slippery ice covered rock looking for something else to grip) would have been suicide.
So we climbed it again a few months later. This was from the July trip.

Very nice
The first one appears to be very wide angle - almost fish-eye?
What time of year was it?

18mm on a Nikon D200, equates to 27mm. And it was 9th September 2006. It's my fave from these 3, such a massive scene, looks really great on the 40" LCD.
All that snow in September, we were going to have 2 nights at Lake Cygnus but this came in overnight so we spent half a day looking about then prudently headed down Moraine A for the 2nd night. A real Western Arthurs welcome that was!

Nice shots, I particularly like the middle one. I've been up Ossa but not in winter. For some reason that image reminds me of penguins in Antarctica.

Nice work Adam, love the first and the detail in the last is great. It's funny how going back through old photos you find ones you never bothered to process or weren't happy with that you can improve with better processing techniques etc.
