Last week I did a three day solo trip to Lake Rhona and the Denisons.I didn't find much solitude as the beach was packed with four separate groups (5 tents) with three more groups coming in the following days. The weather was awesome though and on the second day I got over to Bonds Craig and came back via a "shortcut" that involved head height scorparia and swimming.

Full trip report required Minty! That's a bit of a tease, many detour down to Crooked lake but not Wurrawina, question has to be asked, why?
Bonds summit no problem?
How is the toiletry situation at Rhona holding up?

It looks great but I'll save it for less popular times me thinks.

A a full report would be most appreciated. :-)

There was quite a good pad near the top of Bonds Craig and the walking around that area was fairly easy anyway. When I was on top of Reeds Peak I saw the lake below Bonds (Wurawina and Murray) and thought it would be interesting to get down to them then walk south across the plains to Rhona. There was quite a cool gully just below the summit of Bonds that went straight down into lake wurawina (see photo). The first half was pretty good going but the last hundred meters had some really thick scrub. When I eventually got down to the lake there was a steep rock face on one side and even worse scrub on the other, so as it was a warm day I decided to take a bit of a dip and swim with my pack to a nice little beach on the other side. Luckily my pack floated. The walk back across the buttongrass plains and over the ridge to Rhona was relatively easy.

I didn't really get to check out the toilet situation in great detail.

Thats a bugger Minty we were there 2 weekends ago and had the place to our self, 30 plus degree the swimming was great. The toilet situation!!! Its not that great, although it would appear all walkers are trying to do the right thing but due to the lake, the beach, camping pads, then sheer rock it will never improve :( Not sure what the answer is? But may need to be like rubbish you take it in you carry it out?? I know there has been discussion before on the poo tube, but it is such a magic spot be shame to see the poo becoming an issue, let alone the water??
