Group buy Amsteel 7/64 /whoopie slings

Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

I would try a forwarder... I get my stuff from the US via a forwarder and that includes a lot of stuff that apparently should not be shipped international... For the weight the shipping would be bugger all...

Which forwarder do you use as I've never done it. Ship to?

It's called "myus". Last item was 20kg and cost $190 shipping from them and it was in tassie less than a week after we payed the shipping.

Sorry. I've been busy organising a trip up north. Ill get to organising the amsteel now. The Seattle marine discount only applies to a 600' spool (which is what our order is). They also only stock black, blue and yellow. So if we want the 14c a foot we can only go with one colour (not sure which people prefer). If people want two colours I can get the green and grey from redden.

Well orders in and you've got the best of both worlds. Our total order was for 755 feet so I figured Id just get 2x600 spools as Im sure the excess will get snapped up. Unfortunately they don't have a nice colour range so there's blue and black on the way. But at 14c a foot its a great deal. Big thanks to nuts for a) finding their site and b) helping with the postage/shipto. Your a champ :-)

Aaannnddd the orders been cancelled. The other day when I emailed they said they didn't post internationally get someone local. Now its that they don't accept international credit cards due to a problem with a previous customer. Grrrr.

So I think its back to arrowhead with a smaller order in grey only (cheapest option). Ill keep you posted.

Yes rather disappointing but unfortunately not much I can do. He's very cagey so I guess they got screwed.

Have you tried a shipping service like priceusa?

You pay them locally, their agent in the US buys locally and ships to you. I'm sure it will cost more than doing it direct, but you should still come out in front with that great price.

Cheers,
Michael

Ill have to work it out as they also don't have enough black in stock so they only have 400'. The discount only applies to 600' spools. Im not sure people would want blue and yellow. Ill do the sums and get a quote.

Gosh what PITA. Hard stuff whilst trying to organise an interstate move and re-accreditation after a few years off work. Ill get there folks.

Hi folks. Yes unfortunately with their lack of stock and the extra cost of getting it bought over there there wasn't a great advantage.

I have placed the order with redden. They've been a dream to deal with, have the stock and have sharpened the postage cost a little (still not great but better). So ill only charge you guys the 21c a foot redden charge then whatever the postage cost is from Sydney to you (usually not much with those prepaid satchels). Ill update when under way and work out costs etc.

Perhaps if you PM me your address I can use the Australia post calculator and give you exact cost.

One thing i'll note (from recent o/s purchases) is shipping is slow. I've noticed 1-2 weeks lag to normal. Must be the lurking festive season (either that or bushwalking season and we've all gone nuts buying gear ;-)

Ill PM everyone my details and cost. Im only charging you the 21c a foot and $6.60 for the prepaid Aust post satchel. Please PM me back when you've paid with your name and address for postage (some I've got already- thanks). Can you also let me know in the PM what name you put as the description for your payment so I can watch my account for it.

Cheers all

Hi guys,

Just wanted to bump this as a reminder. Ive received payment from two (and posted last week). Thanks guys. Whilst Im not jumping up and down if you could respond via PM if your still wanting your order that would be super as I've just received a request from another member who missed the order. If you've changed your mind then I can sell it to them.

Cheers guys and have a great day

Mic

Hi Bluegum Mic,

Just wondering if you ended up with leftovers?
I am keen on three sets of whoopies if you can spare them.
Happy to pay for your trouble.
