Merry Christmas

Postby hikin_jim » Sun 25 Dec, 2011 5:25 am

I usually post in the Equipment Forum, so even though this isn't exactly an equipment post (Hey, check out that cool child carrier!), here goes:

Hikin' Jim and Hikin' Joyce would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
Joyce is very excited about Christmas. No, really. ;)

Hi HJ,

Merry Christmas to you and and Joyce, a great photo of you two.

It is Christmas morning here in OZ and it looks like it is going to be a warm (29C) sunny day where I live.

Not any kids riding new bikes up and down the street yet.

Tony

PS I finished the Mawson book yesterday, I am hoping to get a related book for Xmas, I might never get back into stove testing.

Hi, Tony,

Thank you very much. My daughter is my favorite thing in all my life (well, my wife ranks right up there too). She's so sweet and affectionate. She just loves to follow me around the house. She says "walk!" which means "talk me on a walk" frequently. She's funny though, she frequently sleeps on our walks. Still, she gets out of the carrier and plays some.

It has definitely NOT been 29C here lately!

Well, just as long as you don't strive to emulate Mawson, I think you'll be OK. :)

Hi HJ,

While waiting for my family to wake up this morning, I started reading a book that a friend loaned me called ‘Mawson life and Death in Antarctica’ by Tim Jarvis and it is about emulating Mawsons disastrous Eastern Expedition, Tim Jarvis used similar era equipment in similar state of condition.
