SOLD - Zebralight H51Fw

Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

SOLD - Zebralight H51Fw

Postby Strider » Sun 16 Dec, 2012 4:48 pm

Hi All

I have for sale a Zebralight H51Fw. Have had this a couple of months but only used a couple of times. In as new condition, aside from one tiny tiny dent on outer edge of bezel - may have even been there from the start without me noticing.

Have decided I would prefer the cool white model instead.

$40 + postage

Oh no! I got scared by the ZL disclaimer below when I bought this one and coughed up the extra $13 for tracking.

International orders are guaranteed to be shipped, but delivery cannot be guaranteed due to varying international conditions.

Nice lights if you get a good one....... i wont buy a Zebralight direct from Zebralight ever again.

Varying international conditions lol, what a joke. Pales in insignificance compared to their quality control standards!

Hey Strider, sorry to bag out the manufacturer in your for sale thread, i just couldnt help myself with your comment about shipping. But at the end of the day, postal insurance protects the SENDER.

If you pay with Paypal and the light does not arrive, and Zebra light cannot prove that you received the light then you will be refunded your money.

Ill say one thing for sure, Zebralight do make an awesome light for the money. Their UI is second to none along with the output v's run times.

Sadly their QA is appalling and it seems they are quite happy to ship items that should have never made it out the door.

If you follow any ZL thread on CPF you will know exactly where im coming from re: my dissatisfaction with their quality assurance. One could expect the odd issue with a brand new product but you would think after a model has been out for almost a couple of years and has been through a number of revisions, that the new flashlights made now would be perfect. My experience was very much not so. Machining faults, machining marks, anodizing marks, average led colour, off center led, artifacts around the hotspot etc.

Personally as i was saying in my original post, i wouldnt buy direct from them again. If i buy another Zebralight it will be either second hand, or via a vendor who can personally inspect the light before shipping.

I think a contact was loose. The light kept varying in maximum intensity despite several fresh battery swaps. Sometimes it would barely put out the 'moonlight' level on high - shake it a bit and maybe it would work up to medium. Worked for about 6 months fine. I bought two at the time and the other is fine.

I had read about the quality issues but got the impression that was the older models.

I should have sent insured post back to China - silly.

Awesome lights otherwise - what a shame. Maybe LED lenser or Fenix are better quality control?

nq111, sorry to hear about your experience mate.

U sent back a faulty light which they say they never received thus the did not ship you a new replacement?

That is pathetic, most other highly regarded brands would have shipped you a new light at the same time you were agreeing to return the faulty one.

Ive had easily a dozen Fenix lights, never had any issues. We'll ive killed two of them but they lasted a good 8-9years first.

IMO there are a few good Chinese manufacturers around these days but i still prefer the overbuilt nature and bomb proof construction of many of the smaller American and other small scale manufacturers.

Normally I would agree with this. BUT Zebralight provide that clause so they dont need to replace non-arrivals.

Most of these relate to the original H30 or H50 models though. There seems very little negative experience with the H51 or other newer models.

Totally agree. I just received an H51F from Torchworld.com.au. David provides an excellent service and each light is individually tested prior to dispatch. I only purchased direct from ZL last time as Torchworld did not have in stock what I wanted at the time.

Well my "new" one is great, used it last night to clean my car out at 11.30pm, worked a charm ;-)

The "tiny dent" Strider described - well I have good eyes, knew where to look, and still had to look twice to find it!

Thanks, Strider.

Thanks, Strider.

The warm tint really was awesome now I've got a cool white to compare it to. So nice on the eyes!

Pretty sure that "dent" was always there. My new one has several similar markings on the bezel, leading me to think it must be a manufacturing thing.

Glad you're happy with it :-)

I'll keep that in mind, because other than the crap service, they are great lights.
