Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

(QLD Bris) various items golite, MSR snowshoes, neoair ALL S

Postby Bluegum Mic » Sun 06 Jan, 2013 8:44 pm

I have for sale a few items.

SOLD- First up a Golite Shangri-La 3 with custom mods. Very sad to let this go but I need to upgrade to the SL5 as the family is about to expand :-)
Its the bamboo (yellow) SL3 fly that has been attached to the golite SL3 floor (very tough) with perimeter netting and a netting door (by terrarosa gear). This means the tent is now integral pitch (peg and unzip fly and net door and stand up with pole..very quick) and bug proof. I unfortunately no longer have the alloy pole for this tent as I always used my BD hiking poles. Im happy to include the pole connector I use.
Asking $220 delivered in oz SOLD

MSR lightning 25 snowshoes. These are brand new and never used. Purchased for a trip that got cancelled and I've since moved to sunny Queensland where they are a little out of their element ;-) Purchased from my local hiking store in Syd. $120 delivered
(I'll update photos tomorrow as I have to get them out of my ski bag).

Finally a neoair all seasons SOLD Purchased from another member here. In great condition. Regular size. Only selling as I prefer a vertical baffle on my sleeping mat. Fantastic mat though. Very comfy and have used it sub zero in snow and was toasty. $70 delivered in oz SOLD

I was sitting down mucking about on my computer, as I usually do, when I heard a van pull up out the front and he blown his horn, Beep, Beep.

So I got all excited and jumped up out of my chair, pushed my way through all the junk, and saw the postie open his van door and grabbed a big bag. Handed it to me, I quickly ripped open my bag, and there's a GoLite Shangri-La 3 inside the bag.

Stinking hot outside, but there's no way I was going to wait for the weather to get cooler, so I braved the outdoors and erected my GoLite Shangri-La 3.

I need a longer pole, and I need something to put the pointy thing on my pole onto, Not planning on carrying books with me. :D

Looks good Phil. The connector I sent you goes with black diamond flick lock poles ie pull both ends out of both poles and then insert the piece of pole between them. Makes for a very long pole. Not sure what poles you've got there (can't tell from the picture). You might have to get a pole jack or pole connecting sleeve thing.

Leki Summit AS poles, stretch out to 145cm. I contacted GoPro in the states in regards to purchasing one of there poles for the shelter. They don't have stock, not till spring. Same as the shelters, earliest possibility March.

The DuoMid I ordered is supplied with a Pole sleeve, but thats about 9 weeks away. I'll see what I can find at Bunnings tomorrow. The books did work well.

Is this a sil-nylon shelter? There don't appear to be much stretch in the fabric.

Yes its sil nylon. Its a 2011/12 model (just before they started selling them purely through their website. Its the same fabric as what's on their website.
If your in a pickle I can send you my hiking poles. I have two pairs and mostly use the other pair now anyway. I only use the trail shocks if I was carrying that tent anyway.

Hi Mic. I did wonder how that pole extender worked, I was thinking you must have some very skinny poles.

I'll see what I can find up town tomorrow. Should not be to difficult to find something I can use, I guess it will have to be strong.
I weighed the complete shelter without the pegs, comes in at 1425 grams, including stuff sack. It sure is a mission to get it back into the stuff sack. The pegs are 12 grams each, about the same weight as the ones I have. Easy to erect, I did had to move two pegs, but that was first time ever setting one up, could get interesting in the rain. I can see a challenge keeping the inside dry when setting up in the rain. It's a good thing it goes up very fast. The weight surprised me, I thought it would have been much heavier. This will work fine if I have someone joining me on a hike, share the one shelter. Solo hikes I will not use. For car base and two people hikes, perfect. Now I need an indian outfit and I'll be fine. Looks like a teepee.

PS.

One more thing, Evan's done a great job on the mods. I can't wait to sit inside the shelter hearing rain coming down.

I reckon you'll be able to find a pole to make a jack from at bunnings. I got that piece of tubing off ebay and its tougher than the hiking poles lol. Yes its not a heavy shelter at all (considering how heavy duty that floor is too) and Evan did a great job. It will be sorely missed (but hey its going to be replaced with an SL5 so ill still have a tipi :-)
