Can I buy gas in Deloraine?

Tue 05 Feb, 2013 2:24 pm

A mate and I are flying into Launceston to do a trip in the Walls next month and I was wondering if there is anywhere in Deloraine that sells gas cannisters?

I can't answer that, however if worse comes to worse, swing by Backpackers Barn in Devonport (20 mins from Deloraine) and access the walls through Sheffield and Mole Creek, passing Paradise. It's a very quick drive.

The Backpackers Barn no longer exists in Devonport, but there is now a Mountain Designs shop at 2 Rooke Street, Devonport, however there are many options in central Launceston to pick up what you need depending on the time you fly into Launceston.

Oh damn! That's really sad to hear, was a great store.

Mountain Designs has been there for a fair while though, but you are right, would be many places in Launnie to get what you need.

Happy NY Roger! Been in Allgoods. Its location is very convenient for those travelling with Spirit. Kath is also on Rooke St, just few minutes from MD.

Can I do anything for you in return? I can be contacted if I can be of assistance.
It was about 10 minutes after you dropped me off at the carpark. A tiger snake greeted me :D

I also took a Qlder on a day walk in Werribee Gorge, one of Melbourne's Western Gorges in Victoria. She had met me on one of my walks up there.
