Here's a chance to own a hard copy of Abels Vol 1. I probably would have just kept it but a 'toungue in cheek' comment and then discussion with another member brought up the concept of auction for a good cause.
Perhaps it will spur others to donate an auction item to a worthy cause in a similar way? Y'know, a 'pay-it-sideways' type of deal
At first I thought this might end up too complex, bids need to be from serious buyers..starting a bidding war and members pipping each other with last minute 1c bids, winning bidders not paying, dodgy bank account numbers lol ya just never know!! How to make it less so?
Rules?1. 'Worthy Cause'- an organisation with a
published donation (bank) account.
2. Bids in (say)
$5 increments, maximum (say)
3 bids per member3. Winning bid includes (AU) postage, winner has
5 days to complete payment or offer goes to next highest bidder (who has an equal obligation to pay) so on..
4. Set auction period (say) 10 days, allowing most members to have dropped by. Posting a bid means posting here with the bid amount (at least $5 higher than previous) Set end time.
5. Some form of receipt copy (deposit screenshot etc) for donation payment before posting the item.
6. Photo and accurate description of actual item.
7. Not associated with BWA in any way, personal post and concept, any problems to be sorted out between members.
Do we need more rules? Let's See
(Just to say if this goes bottom (for reasons not foreseen) up we will need to reserve the right to amend or cancel at any time)
