Replacing my stolen gear.

Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

Replacing my stolen gear.

Postby dannydanny » Sat 01 Jun, 2013 11:23 am

Last week I came home to find my house had been burgled while I was out surfing - lost 3 of my beloved surfboards, my pushbike, my x100 and my gear.
I was leaving that afternoon for a three day walk in the Walls so had my gear packed and ready - and they just picked it up and left.

So I am in the market to replace this all soon. Here is a list of what I am after - if anyone has some gear laying around they don't use I'd be happy to take it - even if it is damaged- I'd rather repair some cheaper (but useable) gear than spend $1000's replacing my stolen stuff.

Tent (2 person, 3-4 Season)
Pack (I used a 65-75L)
Pack Liner
Gaiters (both short and long sizes)
Thermals (I'm a medium sized bloke, lost 3 lots of tops and bottoms)
Cooking gear (trangia and pot/bowl)
Water bottle
Warm clothes (fleeces that fit under rain jacket - size M)
Compass
First Aid Kit
Wide brim hat
Sleeping mat

If you have any of this gear suitable to use in Tasmania - even if it needs a bit of a repair job - I'd be happy to buy it from for a decent price... I had big plans for some challenging winter walks and I'm not letting a bit of inconsiderate thievery stop me!

Cheers.

Hi there danny danny.

So I read your post, sounds annoying. Anyway I have been trying to get rid of some gear for a while and I actually have quit a lot of what your after. Here is a list of what I have, we can cut a deal and as I live in Adelaide too, we could just meet up, or you could drop by. I live in Westbourne Park (Mitcham)

I have:

80L Pack, Caribbe Boulder.
US GI closed cell mat.
Highlander 50L pack liner.
I have a Trangia set, 2 pots/bowls, frying pan and the burner/wind protector and handle gripper.
I have a brand new Merino wool base layer long sleeved shirt I bought just last week, but I have never felt good in wool. "Large, but very tight on me, and I am only a large"
I also have a one man tent, with plenty of extra room for gear, it's coleman, but it is one of their better/upper quality tents. I will get you more details on that if you need. It's very nice, I just go Hammock camping now.

Let me know what you think. I could get these to you within the same day of purchase, you could pay cash... etc. I am really just wanting to get rid of them all and so would be willing to give you a good deal. So let me know what you think. I bought all of these items for just over $500's but am looking closer to $300 for the lot. That is pretty much the Trangia, and the tent for free. Let me know if your interested. Cheers.

Ghillie

I also have a North Face fleece too. It goes with a Goretex outer shell, but the shell is at my parents who are currently overseas, so won't be getting that back till Aug. Cheers mate.

Hi,

I have a Pro Lite 4 TARest reg going cheap.
Some patched holes, and my name written on it.
Does not leak, and is in otherwise good nick.
How about $65?
