Lost on 7 July 2013 a blue/black Back Diamond walking pole with a brown handle on the track from the Scott Kilvert Hut to the Overland Track at the Cradle Cirque near Benson Peak, about halfway up the hill, below the treeline. Please let me know if found - borrowed from my father.

No help but when we went down from the Cirque to Scott Kilvert on the 9Jul, didnt see it.
You must have had fun going up from SK to the cirque. The snow would have made life very difficult.
Were you part of the party that spent a night in the Rangers Hut? If so we met you at Windermere.

Hi Roger,
Yes, that was us. We (I mainly) worked hard up from SK Hut and in a flail/faceplant, one of my poles and I parted company. It was probably less than 3 metres from me but with the scrub and snow I couldn't see it. The rest of the trip was sensational - wonderful snow and even sunshine - attached is just over Pelion Gap looking back to Ossa. I trust yours was as enjoyable.
Cheers Roger
Hugh

Hi guys,
Bump. Now the snow is melting my walking pole may have surfaced. If you find it either PM me or pass it on to the rangers at either end of the OLT.
Thanks

I haven't found your walking pole, but I did enjoy the photo you took. Well, enough that I took the liberty of turning it into a turn of the century monochrome image.

Tell me if you want it removed.

The turn of the century was only 13 years ago

A wise man once told me that whenever I am asked as to the origin of an eponymous named procedure, I should reply with "They were a visionary <insert speciality> who first described this procedure around the turn of the century."
I was told that the trick is to avoid mentioning their sex and which turn of which century was meant.

... And further refinements to the procedure were made by member of the <insert name of viva examiner's medical school> through the following decades.

Hi Icefest. Love the effect, especially the vignetting. I think I have a lens that will do that automatically.
