I really do not want to sell this but I need to fund my winter base camp
1 only J&H ( the precursor company to One Planet ) Ultra Everest Summit assault sleeping bag.
Still "State of the Art"
Expedition cut to fit over a down suit.
Longish bag to suit person to 187 tall
Dark Blue with Flouro yellow centre panel. At the time of purchase these sold for $799-
Lightweight ripstop nylon shell and inner. NO Zip to save weight
Nikwax treated for water resistance
Bag weight 1090 grams ( the Nikwax treatment added 20 grams)
1140 grams with stuff sack and storage sack
Filled with 480 grams of 900 loft of ethically hand plucked Polish goose down.
The only current equivalent of this bag is the PHD Combi bag which in this size would cost $630 plus postage and weigh 80 grams less.
I am a cold sleeper but find this bag on its own good down to 0C others who have borrowed it told me it was far too warm at those temperatures.
These bags never came with a temperature rating but in conversation with the new One Planet factory I was told that if they were rating the bag for comfort it would rate -4C which corresponds with the PHD rating for a sleeping bag equally spec'd

Comparing to other similarly rated bags, I'd say its the price. This isn't a particularly specialised piece of equipment. A great bag, no doubt, but you're currently $100 above the price range of a brand new Western Mountaineering Summerlite.

Strider, the mists of nostalgia may be blurring my vision, but although the on paper spec seems similar to a Summerlite, I would go the Ultra every time, provided it suited my purposes. The Ultra is much roomier, and for a reason, but that does not suit me. If I recall correctly, the loft that these things had, with such a small amount of down, was jaw dropping (at the time ?)

As I am skinny Dog, and have both a W/M Ultralite and a W/M Apache, you cannot tempt me , and as Strider said, you may struggle at that price, despite the quality.

Only been used twice GPS it is my back-up bag, when I heard that production was stopping I bought a second bag.

If this was a summer bag it would be much lighter and much cheaper, it's an Everest or other 8k sleeping bag when used in conjunction with the rest of the gear
Don't compare these to other J&H/One Planet bags of the time they were made using 650 Siberian down
In size it is closer to the WM Badger than the Summerlite.
I am realistically prepared to negotiate on price but the bag still has 130mm of loft, more after tumbling at low heat; inspection is invited.
I have never found the lack of a zip a drawback

a WM Summerlite or almost any modern summer bag fits inside this bag reasonably easily

An aside tho. the combination of this bag and the Tamarack inside it is like an oven or blast furnace and I doubt very much I'll need the down parka as well so I may be willing to swap for a suitable lightweight down pullover or jacket in XL or XXL
