Sold (Tas, Hbt) - Western Mountaineering Apache S/Bag

Postby stu » Thu 27 Feb, 2014 11:37 am

Used (maybe 20 nights) Western Mountaineering Apache MF Sleeping Bag (has had a proper down wash / commercial dry).
Price: $300-
Size: 6'
Zip: Left Zip
Includes: STS mesh storage sack.
Link: http://www.westernmountaineering.com/index.cfm?section=products&page=Sleeping%20Bags&cat=Microfiber%20Series&ContentId=33

Only getting rid of it as I have a similar FF bag which at 250g heavier is also waterproof...I have had a run of wet weather trips so this is now my preferred bag.
Send me a PM or message here if interested.

SATAN's assistant here Moondog. :D

I have an Apache (with 50/60 grams of extra down), and have used it a bit.

It is my favourite bag. It has kept me warm in conditions where I was expecting it to be inadequate. It has the same height/thickness when fully lofted on the floor as my old Dandelion and has the same interior girth (150cm, if I recall correctly). BUT the Apache is noticeably warmer than the old Dandelion. Mine is heavier than the specified weight by around 100gms, but is still around 350 gms lighter than the Dandelion.

One of the attractions for me is the slim, by current standards, fit. Even O/Ps have got a little roomier, presumably in recognition of increasing body size of the populace.

I bought the Apache as a lighter replacement for the Dandelion, and am very pleased with the results.

How am I doing ? Do I get my devil's horns badge ??
