Have you tried ringing any of the recently dialled numbers? (assuming there is life in the battery of course)

No the phone is locked. Phone was flat though I had a charger for it and drove 5 minutes down the road and got reception, a message appeared to call a number so with that message I thought it would be easy to find owner. When I got hold of the number it was unrelated and they didn't know the phone owner, wrong number. Going from the message the phone was there a week

I should put this on the discussion board but if you find a phone, don't put it in the intentions box when the track head is hours out of the way and in an no service area, take the phone home as most likely they will ring it. I can't see a person who loses a phone on a multi day hike going back retracing their steps after it has rained especially when the track is a long way away from everything imo.

Reminds me that I lost my camera on Mt Fortescue on the Tasman Peninsula circuit. Called in to the ranger station at Fortescue Bay and left my phone number, and got a call a few days later to say it had been found, and I got it back, thanks very much to the finders.
