Rejuvenating my Old Crocs

Postby Moondog55 » Mon 30 Jun, 2014 11:05 am

Another last minute job.
The liners on my winter slippers has worn a bit over the last 3 years and wouldn't be warm enough. The shells tho still had plenty of life left in them. A scrap of old and rewashed moving blanket felt and a second scrap of cheap polar fleece, 5 minute work with some kitchen paper and the scissors to make a pattern and then cut out the felt , trim to shape. pin polarfleece to the cut out felt, sew up and then trim. Feels like I'm walking on air. The felt will gradually pack down to conform to my feet. Underneath I've added a piece of non-slip caravan matting so there is airspace under the slipper liner as well
About 20 minutes work in total

Very thrifty!

I didn't realise they made the lined crocs for bigger feet. My kids had them, but I've just dealt with normal ones for years....actually, if I could wear them all day, I would.

Now you need a "Croc overboot"...?!

Made me think. What's the insulation properties of a pair of Dutch clogs?

Thanks Strider for rediscovering a great winter kit. To add, there are these add-ons,

Flip them up to provide more warmth to the ankles.

And when the ground really gets cold and the snow deep,
