Anyone used either of these Insect Repellent products?

Hi Everyone.

Has anyone used 3m Ultrathon products? The personal use one claims up to 12 hrs protection and the clothes one 6 weeks.

I have used the personal one & it does seem to last much longer than other products. I believe that the DEET is encapsulated somehow so that it is released progressively through the day. It also means you can get longer protection with a lower concentration of DEET. Seems like good stuff.

The clothes one is probably permethrin which has a residual effect. I've used it (permethrin) in the tropics. Works fine.

What are you trying to repel?

My main issue is NZ sandflies,,and we now use dettol/tea tree oil/ sunscreen and baby oil mixed together, rather than DEET, and I use lycra socks and wrist protectors....so it depends on the situation.
