Bunyip State Park - Mortimer Camping Ground

Postby JohnStrider » Fri 27 Mar, 2015 10:22 pm

Hi people,

Off on my second overnighter tomorrow morning. Heading up to Bunyip State Park to camp at Mortimer Camp area. Lots of trails all over the park, so should be good.

Has anyone on here hiked/camped through that area at all? Anything I should be aware of?

Lovely area, and a good central spot for some good walking on both sides of the main road. look forward to your report. I'm going up there in a few weeks to do the William Wallace track area and the tree fern track again.
Some excellent viewpoints along the Sand ridge and Lupton tracks if you head south across the Gembrook Rd, but better forests on the North side.
