Thu 11 Feb, 2016 8:52 pm

This is the ResQlink plus version, which is buoyant and floats, suitable for sea/water adventures.
Very light at only 153g, and extremely easy to carry around. (Dimensions 4 x 5 x 11.5cm)
Was used for a few short hiking trips.

$280 - Pick up in ACT
Can arrange to post Aus wide for additional $8.

Hi there,

Just out of curiosity, what was the date of manufacture? (The batteries are meant to be replaced 6 years post manufacture)

Cheers

Just out of interest how easy is it to replace the batteries and which battery does it take?

Batteries are not user replaceable in any PLB, Moondog.

News to me
At least for Marine ones which used to use two of the 3.6V Panasonic Lithium C-cells

No such thing as a marine PLB. You are thinking of EPIRBs.

Certification would be the issue if users are allowed to replace internal components, so no surprise.

Ahh My bad
What's the difference in real terms?
So needs factory battery replacement then?

Size, floatation, mode of activation, fixed aerial and on-water transmission design are some obvious differences.

From what I've seen and read, they do require factory or service centre for battery replacement. At the same time, with batteries certified for 7 years and the cost of a factory job, might as well as to upgrade to the latest model than another 7 years of the old.

Hmmm $280- for only 2 years doesn't sound like a good deal then
Boss wants me to have one for this season because PV is out of mobile phone range and she gets worried
