The Tasmania Police Westpac rescue helicopter was activated this morning for a medivac to the southern forest, landing at Heritage Park, Geeveston where two walkers were picked up. Good result as always for the helicopter crew!
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has attended two separate incidents on Monday 26/1/216. The first incident was a PLB activation by a 42 year old Moonah man who became lost during a bushwalk near Lake Undine in the Cradle Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park. The helicopter crew were able to locate him quickly due to the PLB and he was winched from the scene uninjured. During the return flight back to Hobart the helicopter was tasked to Alonnah to medivac a 51 year old woman from Western Australia who was suffering from a serious medical condition. The woman was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

I think that information gets recorded when the device is registered with AMSA.

A bushwalker suffering a medical condition on a remote track south of Macquarie Harbour has been rescued by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The EPIRB was activated about 12.14pm on the remote West Coast between Birthday Bay and Bama Bay.
Sydney to Hobart Yachting Race Control were contacted and advised that no vessels were in the area and the names supplied with the EPIRB were not registered on any participating vessel in any race.
Thus the EPIRB activation, with relative certainty, was a bushwalker.
Police confirmed that the EPIRB was registered to two women, from Maroubra and Petersham in NSW, who were in Tasmania bushwalking.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was deployed and arrived at the scene at 2.28pm.
