FS or SWAP [Ncle NSW Aus Post] Thermerest Neo-Air Wide Short

Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

FS or SWAP [Ncle NSW Aus Post] Thermerest Neo-Air Wide Short

My princess and the pea quest continues.... :P

ThermaRest Neo-Air Wide Short
67cm W 131L flat ~395 grams
Lime Green

Recently traded with another forum member for this mat, just spent 2 nights on it and it sadly isn't for me. Very good piece of gear though- I have a dodgy nurses back and have resigned myself to having to shorten a wide/long mat to the right length for myself, something I was trying to avoid and hoping the Thermarest would solve for me.

Asking $90 plus post
OR
will consider trades +/- cash difference. Items of interest; Day pack (short/med torso) , Thermarest Z lite, new poles for my son (his fleabay ones bent, surprise surprise) or gaiters for him,Ti pot + lid 750- 1200ml capacity or try me with any other trade ideas I bet there is something I don't even know that I want

Have you considered adding a thin mat underneath or on top? Such a mat weighs about 100 grams, and may make the one you have acceptable. The thin mat rolls to about 100 mm diameter with a free weightless hole in the middle for tent poles.

Cheers, hadn't thought about being able to stash tent poles in the CCF gap, great tip! The comfort level to actually sleep on was fantastic, really impressed, very thick mat. What I was aiming for in buying it was to fit entirely on it -I am a short statured side sleeper- I knew it would be a close thing given the measurements, but unfortunately just my ankles and feet hung over the edge. I tried usual tricks of pack, clothing etc but I really do want to fit entirely on it.

What about a CCF mat for the lower legs? I have an el-cheapo one here, the blue sort from disposals shops that often litter tracks in small pieces, that weighs 214 grams/square metre. An offcut of 52 X 50 cm would weigh about 60 grams. Or someone may have an old Karrimat, the yellow ones, could be cut down.

If all else fails you could try this:

It comes in powdered form, just add water. A model with a steep roof is suitable for snow camping.

Another trick with short mats is to only use the mat from your shoulders down with your head off the end propped up by your pack, pillow etc.

I just spat tea all over my keyboard with a splutter of mirth! Nice ultralight 4 poster.

I will be fine and non-whiney by shortening a wide/long pad...promise! All I seek is the width, without the acres of extra length that most manufacturers seem to want to sell their wide pads in. I will take scissors and iron in hand and go gang busters and no-one will ever have to hear tell of this poor princesses' sad tale of uncomfortable mats again

Btw the mat is SOLD Pending Payment

Hey.

Just wanted to chime in and say I'll definitely take this if your current buyer falls through.

Please PM me if that ends up being the case.
