SC Bay indeed, Just after going around Coal Bluff. I do need to get to some more remote areas to play this game with any real effect.

Not much to go on when I can't recognize it, it's one of those photos where you need to have been there to have any idea, unfortunately not that many people playing the game lately.
That's a mighty big rock on the other side there, pretty distinct. Plenty of thick scrub too so one would suggest it's in a wet area of the state, likely west or possibly south. There are areas of the state that feature white rock. I think I need a clue...

A clue is due.
It is on one of the most discussed walking tracks in the state.

Ahh - but its on the backend extension - where fewer people go

A stab in the dark - Is it Promontary Lake
Sun 03 Jan, 2010 3:33 pm
"backend extension" seems a little clumsy.
I am sure "tail" is acceptable, even in a family forum such as this.
eggs may post a pic if no one names it soon.
It is not Promotory L.

It looks like Lake Rosanne in Wester Arthur Range

PeterJ is correct.

Lake Tyndall from the eastern side looking west. Must be recent after this years rain, as the beach is under water.
Sun 03 Jan, 2010 5:59 pm
You are certainly right tas-man, but I just checked my photos - and the beach is in the next inlet to the north.
This photo is over the same inlet but showing there is more on the right.

Back at work today so haven't had a chance to log on until now. Here's a new panorama to guess where I am standing.

Shame on me for needing help... Is the predominant peak left of centre Valentines?
If ti is, you might be in the area of Hownslow Heath, though it looked nothing like that when I was there, too wet & cloudy.
It does have that "Vale of Belvour " area feel to it tho.

Hi
tasadam, you are correct! I took this from the top of Hounslow Heath on New Years Day after the Weindorfer Memorial service. The day was the clearest and mildest that I have ever experienced at Cradle Mountain, and the views from the top of Hounslow were magnificent. Unfortunately all the scoparia had finished flowering in this area, but lots of Mountain Rocket, everlastings etc. The panorama takes in a long stretch of the Penguin to Cradle trail, from Mt. Beecroft on the left to Black Bluff to right of centre, to Tiger Plain on right. Your turn

Well I wasn't expecting to get that right, glad I did tho. Must get up there one day when you can see it.
OK, see if this looks familiar to anyone.

That was why I put a relatively easy one up, to keep it moving.
Cheers!
