I'm hoping to climb Mt Ossa next summer via the Arm River Track. Could anyone tell what the road up to the camp/parking area is like? Would I need an SUV or $WD or could I make it in my little sedan?

You can make it in your little sedan.
This makes me the first man to climb Mount Everest backwards, without oxygen...or even a jumper.

It's a typical FT maintained gravel road - fine for little 2wd sedans.
