How about a clue? Nothing is standing out at me so far
Thu 15 Aug, 2019 9:38 am
There is a clue in my previous post.
Thu 15 Aug, 2019 4:00 pm
It's a track, but not on the map.
Thu 15 Aug, 2019 5:47 pm
Since this is not progressing - is it somewhere near the Blue Tiers?
Thu 15 Aug, 2019 6:06 pm
No, but it is in the northern half of the island.
Thu 15 Aug, 2019 7:10 pm
Well, there's a Success Creek on the West Coast. But as far as figuring out the track you're on that isn't on the map - well, I'm too pooped!

You're thinking about that clue the right way, although that isn't the correct answer. It's not on the coast. Still, credit to you.
This is fairly close to a famous Tasmanian place. Far too famous, in fact...

Were you somewhere near Lake Will?
Fri 16 Aug, 2019 9:50 am
Mt Tor?

No, but that's the right NP and closest guess so far.

So I can now identify Heemskirk and Mt Black.
Clearly this is a telephoto shot.
The famous spot is probably Cradle Mt/Barn Bluff area.
The track which is not on the map may be a reference to the Innes Track
So perhaps from Mt Inglis?

You're slowly getting closer. To repeat the pertinent part of my first clue: ...set up not to fail...
Fri 16 Aug, 2019 11:41 am
Kicks self - I got the wrong lump as Heemskirk! - what about Riggs pass?
Fri 16 Aug, 2019 12:12 pm
That's it - Riggs Pass. A great little walk, especially with some snow.

The Horse Track just south of Crater Peak
Fri 16 Aug, 2019 1:44 pm
Yes norts - Crater Peak was our destination on this part of the walk.
In all my visits to the Cradle area I had never before visited it, but it was well worth the effort.

My first 5 trips through the park were always up the Horse Track. Dad didnt like going up Marions it was a bit more of a scramble in those days.
Next.

I know that stag. I have photos of it. But trying to remember where it is . . . Frenchmans Track? Although it looks more like Southern Ranges country...
Fri 16 Aug, 2019 3:36 pm
The tilt of the earth may not be helping - might make you go nutty.
Fri 16 Aug, 2019 4:00 pm
Further north than Frenchmans
Fri 16 Aug, 2019 9:23 pm
I thought someone might take the hint by now?
Perhaps he is traversing out of the saddle between Ossa and Paddys Nut - looking south to Eros and Walled Mt?
Fri 16 Aug, 2019 9:31 pm
That's it Eggs

Olympus?

North from there.
Note the pimple on the LHS - click in and enlarge.
Sat 17 Aug, 2019 4:47 pm
I have, but it's not the easiest little pointy thing to identify. The cliffs middle distance on the right seem to be a better prospect.
Sat 17 Aug, 2019 5:18 pm
Reckon I'll be kicking myself. At first I thought it was Ida, but is the pimple Barn Bluff?
Sat 17 Aug, 2019 6:15 pm
near the high point of the DuCane range?
Sat 17 Aug, 2019 8:08 pm
Last has it - on the Ducane Range - the Pimple is Pelion East
