On second thoughts - probably from the Overland Track near Lake Holmes - although it could have been a zoom off track from further out near Lake Ellen/McRae

So on third thoughts - from the Overland Track about 1 to 1.5 km south of Waterfall Valley turnoff.
There's an old photo of Barn from the old Cirque Hut which pretty much matches.

On Mount Hartnett [unofficial name] - looking West towards Barn Bluff. Lake Ellen on LHS.

Looks like Barn Bluff again, but this time from somewhere well to the east of the OT. Perhaps in the vicinity of Lake Andrews?

The spot I am on has the unofficial name of Mount Harnett, and yes, it overlooks Lake Andrews.
[The lake in view is Lake Ellen]

After working through my mind and lots of images eliminating Gould, Pelion West, the Acropolis, Thetis, Ossa and perhaps a few others, I stumbled onto a shot of Barn from Lake Will and realised the base matched.
It is curious that with all those dolerite faces, there are very few with such fresh boulder screes on them combined with the small cliff lines.
The vegetation suggested fagus groves.
But my shot was found late in my searching and I believe is the same angle on the face of Barn Bluff as NNWs - but hers was from much closer in to Barn.

Near enough Eggs. It is the Temple from the opposite side to Dixons Kingdom. On the main Walls track, between the Temple Track junction and the Pool of Bethesda turn off.

I've not visited many other lakes with a white sandy beach (and it's certainly not Cygnus). It's been a long time. I need to get back there one day.

We had lovely sunshine as we approached the beach - but then all overcast when we were actually there.
I would like to visit again.

Top spot. I'd love to take my kids there one day, but I'm not sure I could get them through the bush bashing from the northern end from Byron Gap, or through the button grass plains with very little track left from the south.

It's actually taken from on the main track (or close to it... hard to tell under snow) from just a few metres up-hill from where my previous photo in the Game was taken (the one of the wallaby under the Temple).

Just two months earlier and facing a different direction.

This is a little less obvious, but there should be enough landmarks to get it.

Is that Feather Falls in view?

It could be. Hadn't even noticed it. And by the way eggs, from you I expect a map with my position pinpointed to within 100m.

I am afraid I was greatly mistaken - no idea what that fall is.
This is quite hard - but lets start with Mt Oana - no map just yet.

It could be Feather. My examination of the relevant maps doesn't show anything else that even comes close to lining up.

Not Oana. Right general area, but still some distance off.
The spot itself doesn't have a name, but it's within roughly 1km of three things that do have names.

Here goes then..

The "waterfall" does not show on any maps - but I think it may be in the state aerial photo in the LIST - on the steep face a bit north from Eagle Lake.
I suspect it would rarely have water in it.
I think there is also water in view through the trees and that would be Lake Malbena.

A zoom in using the aerial image - and ringing the bits I think align with the photo.
So maybe it was from a few metres north west of my marker point.
