Near Steanes Tarn?
Thu 16 Apr, 2020 8:58 am
Abrotanella Rise?
Thu 16 Apr, 2020 9:03 am
Not Steanes or Abrotanella either... although it looks similar I think NNW has led you all astray here. The Pictons are a considerable distance from here. Federation is obvious, it's all about the angle... ..

Hmmmfff ... maybe Bobs? Heading towards it's knobs?

Closer, but not in the area of Bob.

Yeah, I looked at a photo I took from the Snowy-Hartz saddle and the view appears to be opposite from original assumptions.
I'm wanting to say Mt Pollux but that still seems west-ish.

Yep pollux is west... and yet to be visited by me though I'm hoping to get there in the next year or 2.
Can't be too many options left now though.

It's that rock. Hills, Alex, Maxwells. Don't remember if it's on Wylly and VC as well. Meh, too many choices.
Thu 16 Apr, 2020 10:20 am
That angle on the Warthurs is unique.... Looks like Wylly? With Kameruka Moraine in the foreground
Thu 16 Apr, 2020 10:30 am
Yes last has it. VC it is.

Which way was the wind blowing eggs? You are, of course, correct

Don't know about the wind - but a South Westerly would fit.
Looks like a lot of water flowing there.
Next one

- Ducane Range and Hyperion from Mt Thetis

Yes - happy to get there this year in good conditions.
We exited on the Arm River track the next day with snow.

Excellent! Im yet to get to Thetis.
I can see my campsite on the Du Cane from earlier this year in your pic. On top of the ridge behind Lake Helios, An amazing place to spend an evening.

It would appear that I had no view of Picton when we were on top of Fedders.
Fri 17 Apr, 2020 9:32 pm
And that is the view you would of had!
