Getting closer, but south from there.

I guess i'll keep going down the range and have a go at Mt Jukes? The rock in the foreground doesn't really look like the stuff on Owen.

And you would be correct - we are on a shoulder of the face of Jukes, having stopped for the night.
It was a fantastic sunrise.

Looks like a superb spot, I've been wanting to head up Jukes for a while now.

Near Leaning Ti Tree Saddle

Pretty much bang on there, I think it's from that first knoll northwest of the saddle.

Thanks , I once spent 2 nights there, so I remember it fairly well.

I seem to recall you mentioning the Slab of Death to me not long before my trip there.

That wasn't the issue for me, once I saw the big crack with the vegetation all the way across. It was the shimmy under the awkward rock with the smooth vertical rock to find holds in that probably would have got me without a hand line. Soooo worth it!

Funny how different obstacles cause different problems for different people. I found the chockstone fairly simple. I guess it would be awkward for people who are a bit shorter.
Yes soooo worth it indeed. It's a brilliant summit.

Ah yes. I think that might be a case where half a metre of extra reach would make all the difference!

Thanks Tortoise.
Where's Wally.

I reckon he might be on badger flats! I was there 3 months ago and it looks like near where we camped.

Hard work, but we got there. Much like that section of track.
