Not the northeast either, but I am looking east in this image.

Lanes?

Not Lanes either.
I'm on a track marked on maps.

That's the place, looking over towards Tyndall. Pretty sure I was just below the summit for this picture.

It looks like somewhere in the south-west. I think I can see a clearing over the hill in the centre, maybe where power lines go. Apart from that I only vaguely think I recognise anything. Let's try looking northish from Snowy North.

Wrong end of the state

Trying to narrow it down. Norfolk Range?
Tue 28 Jul, 2020 9:59 am
yes and close enough. It's Mt Norfolk

OK, that's generous.
Next, where is this hot and sweaty creature:

Spires?

Close, but not close enough.
Tue 28 Jul, 2020 3:23 pm
Ok, so it's high, and it's rocky, so...Innes?
Tue 28 Jul, 2020 6:22 pm
While Mr Hot-and-bothered did get out Innes High Rocky, I wasn't there to take a photo of him. This was later.

Not Pokana??
Tue 28 Jul, 2020 7:30 pm
I could have endless fun with that, given how you've worded it, but it's too late for wordplay - yes, Pokana. And 18 months later, I'm still stuck on the same number of Abels, while he is catching up.

But has he climbed Giles and the multiple knobs in the Flinders Ranges?

Thanks for having mercy. Pokana is my Nemesis. An 18 hour day that involved pulling the pin about 1.5km from the summit, when it finally looked like easy walking. There were a few things against us. Hope I can have another shot at it one day. Unfinished business and all that.
And 18 months later, I'm still stuck on the same number of Abels, while he is catching up.
Bushfires, Covid - what else could go wrong? Maybe you should knock off the easy one.
Next - where is this delightful woodland?

Yes, I do have to get organised with the easy one.
Scott? I remember wandering through something like (with added fog) looking for a summit marker.
Wed 29 Jul, 2020 8:52 am
Scott's the one. One of my favourites, short, easy and accessible though it is.

I must go back when it isn't shrouded in cloud. It was a good walk, with some beautiful forest.
I'm feeling a bit watery, so how about a nice fall?

Westmoreland falls?

Marriotts?

In the interests of pedantry I will remind you that officially the spelling is "Westmorland", but otherwise you are correct. Not a place to visit on a sunny winter morning if you want to do some serious photography.

And I always prided myself on correct nomenclature and spelling...anyway.
Next one.

In fairness, I made the same mistake until I saw the sign at the carpark. And even then I double-checked on ListMap. So, just passing on the shame.

ps: Victoria?
Wed 29 Jul, 2020 4:42 pm
Yes this is Mt Victoria
Wed 29 Jul, 2020 5:37 pm
Why didn't I say Victoria? I thought it looked like Victoria! I claim cabin fever.
Wed 29 Jul, 2020 6:01 pm
Fever? Get yourself tested, Torty. CoVID is still a possibility.
