Reminds me a little of travellers rest lagoon?
Sat 08 Aug, 2020 10:24 am
No, but right general area of the state.
Sat 08 Aug, 2020 11:24 am
Rebecca Lagoon? Fairly sure I've stood in the same spot, but the brain carks it when trying to remember which puddle is which.
Sat 08 Aug, 2020 11:31 am
No, ILUV was much closer
Sat 08 Aug, 2020 11:33 am
Sappho?
Sat 08 Aug, 2020 12:12 pm
It's unnamed (on the map). I think you're about 10k away as the forest raven flies

Can't believe I said Rebecca Lagoon when I meant Lake Loretta. This is what happens when you try to have a caffeine-free day. But still probably not what you're after, although it is about 10km straight from Sappho.
Maybe one of the unnamed constituents of the Orion Lakes?
Sat 08 Aug, 2020 1:32 pm
not near Orion lakes (nor Lake Loretta). It's not on the plateau.
Sat 08 Aug, 2020 3:40 pm
St Clair Lagoon, or even Derwent Basin, near the weir?
Sat 08 Aug, 2020 9:59 pm
wrong direction. Not part of a large lake. You've tried north, south and east.

You seem to be suggesting a unnamed lake about 600m west of Hermione in the Cheyne Range
Sun 09 Aug, 2020 12:32 am
I am. A beautiful place I would have liked to spend more time.
Sun 09 Aug, 2020 7:35 am
That *&%$#! thing! Went past it on the second Cheyne circuit. Thought about camping there but it was too early in the day.

It was the trip intention at one stage - but we ended up at Goulds Sugarloaf...
So its still on the bucket list
Name these peaks

- Huxley & Owen from the climb up Jukes

Yes, I did the same thing. Camped at Lake Hermione, passed it at 8 in the morning

Eldon Peak back right, Sorell in the middle and I'm guessing Darwin in front of it?
edit: no, that's Huxley in front of Owen, you daft git. Presumably from somewhere on Jukes.
Sun 09 Aug, 2020 2:18 pm
Good correction NNW.
Sun 09 Aug, 2020 3:48 pm
Thank you. What on earth made the brain imagine even for a second that you could get Darwin in front of Sorell and Eldon Peak?
Next one.

Looking at Whymper Crags from the ben Lomond rd? Just up from Jacobs ladder?
Mon 10 Aug, 2020 4:24 pm
Indeed. Somewhere along the road. Started and ended in fog, but it did clear out on top for a couple of hours. Lovely winter walking.

Anyone else can jump in, I'm currently away from my pictures.
Mon 10 Aug, 2020 6:08 pm
Ok, I'll jump in.

You're on the money, Rexy! Thought I'd stick with a theme. Stunning day it was.

Cheers mate! I abseiled off one of those cliffs with the late Bob McMahon about 20 years ago. Thought I was smiling for the photo. Turns out I wasn’t.
Next pic...

Whoo hoo! That would have been fun.
We don't seem to have the next pic, though.

Massive issues getting them off my phone. Hopefully, it’s loaded ok now.

Is that walking up to the Ben Nevis summit?
Tue 11 Aug, 2020 5:42 pm
Sure is mate! Take it away.
