I don't get many terns in the Tassie game so I'll throw in a WAG, one the small rock islands that make up The Friars off South Bruny?

Ooh! In the right area with South Bruny! Not the Friars though. This is taken from land, on a very easy walk.

Going on those clues, I suppose it could be Penguin Island near Grass Point?

It is indeed taken from Grass Point! Although, this isn't Penguin Island, but the small unnamed rock to the west. Over to you L!

Where/what is the slope of death? Is it Geryon cause it looks to me like you are at one of the Orion lakes looking across the Gatepost to the Ducanes? in cloud

The "slope of death" is a steeply sloping rock slab that has to be crossed on the way up Geryon South. Called that because of the steepness and the drop at the bottom.
